This lovely event is being held this year on Sunday 7th June 2026.
There will be 6 lovely gardens to visit mostly towards the Sion Hill area. New this year will be a children’s play garden close to the Millennium Green, with play equipment and ice creams and lollies.
As usual there will delicious home made cakes and tea in the St Stephens Centre and a stall full of super value plants on the Millennium Green.

THE WORKINGS OF THE MAGISTRATES COURTS OF BATH
Join Bev Higgs MBE JP for a fascinating, revealing and entertaining talk about the Magistrates Courts of Bath!
Over 50 people joined an illuminating and highly captivating talk with wine on Monday 13th April. It was both very entertaining and educational. The talk was interactive with role playing and use of phones to illustrate the sentencing procedure and guidelines. One member of the audience has decided to apply to become a magistrate we wish every success in the 18 month long process.
The 4th of December was a full moon and the skies cleared for Carols on the Green where over 150 people attended this lovely event. The signing from both choirs was superb and a good time was enjoyed by all.
The format of the St Stephens Millennium Green Trustees AGM this year will be, meet the trustees and your neighbours from 18.00 followed by theAGM at 19.30. All most welcome to join us at any time.
The Richmond Arms, 7 Richmond Place, BA1 5PZ offers a selection of artisan draught beers, lager, gorgeous wines, cask ales, cider, bottled beers, tea, coffee and refreshments.
Bar snacks are available, as well as cheese boards and cured meats. Alternatively you can order in from Deliveroo etc. with no service charge.
Carols on the Green – 6pm onwards on Thursday 4th December
Join us on the Green (or in St Stephen’s Church and foyer in case of inclement weather) for carols provided by the amazingly professional St Stephens Primary school. Refreshments will be available, delicious mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies and ginger bread men.
Thank you to the over 60 people who joined for Tom Boden’s splendid talk about the National Trust’s major project to transform the Assembly Rooms into a major attraction for the city of Bath. Tom, General Manager for the National Trust’s Bath portfolio of properties including Dyrham Park, Bath Assembly Rooms, Prior Park Landscape Garden, Bathampton Meadows and the Bath Skyline, explained that while the Roman story of Bath is well told, there are gaps in the current presentation of Bath’s Georgian story.
The ambitious project will restore the Assembly Rooms building, which was heavily damaged in WW2, and tell the enlightening stories of the people who lived, gambled and danced there. The new experience will use the most modern technology to show how people went about their business in Georgian Bath. For example, visitors will be able to listen to the exciting conversations, stories and gossip of some fascinating characters as they prepare for an upcoming ball. A broader goal of the project is to encourage visitors to extend their stay in Bath by giving them a deeper appreciation of this beautiful city.
The talk was sold out and organised by the trustees of the St Stephen’s Millennium Green Trust and held in the St Stephen’s Church undercroft on Monday 13th October. The funds raised will be used to pay for the upkeep of the much loved St Stephens Millennium Green.
The Assembly Rooms: Bringing a Georgian ball to a building fit for the 21st Century Assembly.
2025 BATH National Trust
Tom Boden, National Trust’s General Manager for the Bath portfolio will be talking about the restoration and reinvigoration of Bath Assembly Rooms. With the doors now closed until 2027, a £17million project is underway to restore the Rooms to a building fit for 21st century assembly, whilst also creating a brand-new visitor attraction that will add to the Georgian story of Bath. Tom will share his passion for history and Bath, as he talks about the changes taking place inside the Rooms and how the new experience is being developed. He’ll share fascinating facts from the research that shows Bath to be a diverse and thriving city which will come to life when the building reopens to visitors.

Meet old and new friends on the Green with the marvellous Manhattan Jazz Duo!

Tickets: £15 *includes a drink of your choice
A selection of wine, beer, soft drinks and delicious snacks will be available on the green
The Manhattan Jazz Duo comprise veteran jazzers Paul Mason on saxophone and Will Macleod on piano. They will be supported by a double bass for our Jazz on the Green concert.
Sadly the weather looks wet for Saturday afternoon so the concert will be held at the nearby St. Stephen’s Centre, Lansdown Rd.
Ian has been chairman for 13 years and was previously a trustee for 4 years, so has worked tirelessly for the Millennium Green for 17 years. In that time he has overseen the development of “Talks with wine” Carols on the Green and of course the Lansdown Open Gardens which have become a regular summer feature. The Trustees and the garden owners who opened their gardens for the Lansdown Open Gardens, celebrated Ian’s retirement with a summer BBQ in the garden of our new chairman Jonathan Nash.

Visitors enjoyed 6 lovely gardens and an allotment, tea and cake and the plant stall on the Millennium Green in all we raised £4,000 for the upkeep of the Green.
