Ian Wilson our chairman retires after 13 years

Ian has been chairman for 13 years and was previously a trustee for 4 years, so has worked tirelessly for the Millennium Green for 17 years. In that time he has overseen the development of “Talks with wine” Carols on the Green and of course the Lansdown Open Gardens which have become a regular summer feature. The Trustees and the garden owners who opened their gardens for the Lansdown Open Gardens, celebrated Ian’s retirement with a summer BBQ in the garden of our new chairman Jonathan Nash.

Ian giving his retirement speech after receiving a small token of our appreciation.

Bath Abbey Footprint project : a new design for an ancient monument

Was the subject of the “talk with wine” on March 17th.  It was a fascinating topic, with many different aspects to the renewal, turning an ancient building into a warmer, light filled space with specially designed amenities for the choir. Over 50 people attended this excellent talk and many commented that they would visit the Abbey and now look out for the different features, which they had previously been unaware of.
