The new Look Out is now ready for your visit, with easy access and lovely views. Behind the mound there is a fun path for children, to run round the base via the tunnel.
Thank you to everyone who has so kindly donated to the fund so far.
We have yet to complete the flat area to far right, originally the Trustees thought of a willow house but there are maintenance issues with this idea. It should be something fun for children, so we are open to suggestions, please get in touch if have some ideas. We need further funds to complete this area, so any donations would be gratefully received.

Background to the Project
The wooden fort on the Millennium Green had been a landmark for nearly 25 years and has been a much-loved feature of the Millennium Green enjoyed by both adults and children. Over the past few years the fort has been showing its age and has needed a lot of patching up to keep it in place and safe.
The Trustees decided to replace the fort with a new feature suitable for all ages to mark our 25th Anniversary. As there are lovely long views from the site of the fort it seemed appropriate to retain the high point but add a decorative circular bench and stepped easy access.

The Trustees engaged a landscape firm to carry out the required works. Planning permission for the project was granted and the work was carried out in May and June 2025
The Look Out cost £18,000. The Millennium Green gets no financial support from local or national government, and we have always been reliant on the generous financial support from our supporters to maintain the Millennium Green. To make this project a reality we used funds from our reserves, plus donations from our supporters and from everyone who enjoys the wonderful environment of the Millennium Green.
