St Stephen’s Millennium Green featured on Gardeners’ World

We were surprised and delighted to see the photograph behind the weather forecaster during a recent edition of ‘Gardeners’ World’  It was a recent picture of the Millennium Green taken by a local photographer and what better endorsement for the Green, our much loved community space, than to be shown on national television.

Financial Report

In the absence of the treasurer the Chairman reported that the past year had been a successful one financially – more income was achieved than out- goings. A good set of investments was available for capital reserves but it was important that fund-raising continued for the future security of the Green. Cash in hand was £7149.

The Chairman’s Report and Financial Report were adopted - proposed by David Morris and seconded by Michael Powne .

It was suggested that e-mail addresses of the Trustees should be made available to friends and supporters. The Chairman said that putting private email addresses on a website was not good practice, but the email address This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. will direct all emails to the Chairman.

Lyn Jacobs reminded everyone that Open Gardens Day would be on June 7th and asked if anyone knew of 2 more gardens which would be suitable for this event. The Summer Fayre would be on August 31st and there was the possibility of a talk by Alastair Chalmers in mid-November. It was also hoped to arrange a Spring Gardens Visit.

Date and Time of next AGM

This would be towards the end of November, the date to be decided upon

The Chairman thanked everyone for coming and closed the meeting.
