Saturday 31st October, Happy Halloween Party

A wonderful afternoon attended by around 60 children plus their parents who seemed to enjoy it all as much as their offspring. The Green looked wonderful with all the games set up and dressed with spooky witch decorations. Thanks to Claire and Chis Champion and to all the other helpers for all the hard work and energy which resulted in a very successful and enjoyable event.

Thursday 17th September – coach trip to ‘The Laskett’

This was very successful event with 32 people on the coach and  2 car drivers. Thanks to Elizabeth Jones for organising this trip, and there was definitely enthusiasm for a couple more garden visits next year.

Bank Holiday Monday 31st August. Produce Sale and Summer Fair

The Summer Fair on Bank Holiday Monday was a great success despite the very unseasonal weather. Over £1500 was raised towards the maintenance of the Millennium Green and that is a big help towards the annual amount of £8000 needed to run the Green.

A big thank you to Lyn Jacobs and to the Millennium Green Events Committee for their organisation of the event. Many thanks also to all the helpers who made the day such a success.

Also many thanks to everyone who spent so generously on the day, and to those who donated to the bric-a-brac, tombola, plant & book stalls, and provided cakes for the teas.

Open Gardens. June 7th

Once again the Lansdown Open Gardens was a great success. A glorious day brought out a record number of visitors to view six local gardens which all looked superb in the sunshine. The Plant Stall did very brisk business and many visitors enjoyed excellent home-made cakes and teas. The day resulted in a record amount of money being raised towards the maintenance of the Millennium Green. Many thanks to Lyn Jacobs and the Events Committee for all their hard work to ensure such a successful day. Our thanks also to the garden owners who offered to open up their gardens. We would not have had a successful day without their kind support.
