Summer Fair, July 7th  2013 2-5pm

The glorious weather on Sunday was a huge bonus for the Summer Fair. We were wonderfully entertained by the U3A Swing Band and are very grateful to them for their generous contribution to the afternoon's enjoyment. As usual there were plenty of home made cakes to take away or have with a cup of tea, listening to the band. The Punch and Judy man, Andrew, who stepped in for us more or less at the last minute, was a great success as were the variety of stalls and tombola.

In spite of it being the Wimbledon men's single final, a good number of people turned up to relax and enjoy another happy neighbourhood event on the Millennium Green. Thanks to all who contributed in their many different ways to bring this about.

Open Gardens Bank Holiday Monday, 27th May 2013

193 people visited the Lansdown Open Gardens, bought plants on the Millennium Green and enjoyed delicious teas in St Stephen's Centre. Thank you to all who supported the event. See below for pictures of the afternoon.

An Easy, Fun Pot Pourri of Puzzles Saturday 20th  April 2013, 7 p.m.

Nearly sixty people attended the puzzle and supper event in St. Stephen's Centre on Saturday evening. It turned out to be a very enjoyable event with a good supper and puzzles which were fun and amusing. The Friends' committee would like to thank all the Millennium Green supporters who came along to make the occasion such a success. Thanks also to everyone who helped to organise such a successful event.

Produce Sale August 27th 2012

The August Bank Holiday Monday Sale, turned out to be a great success inspite of very miserable wet weather. Because of the weather St. Stephen's Centre was used for the sale instead of on the Millennium Green. The bric a brac stall and second hand book stall were well stocked and proved to be very popular. Ivy Cottage plants and the produce stall were located outside due to lack of space in the Centre. However the small tents belonging to the Millennium Green were erected and the stall holders didn't get too wet and managed to sell most of their produce.

Summer Jazz Extravaganza with Hog Roast, July 2012

For the Hog Roast and Jazz on Sunday, July 1st, the Millennium Green was looking it's best in the welcome sunshine. All tickets were sold at least a week before the event so over one hundred people were gathered on the Green to enjoy good food, good music and a chance to meet up with old friends. More people arrived later in the afternoon when tea and cakes were on sale. The photographs of the occasion below record the happy, relaxed atmosphere fortunately enhanced by perfect weather. Many thanks to all who helped create this successful event.

Open Gardens May 2012

The Open Gardens on May 7th were a great success with the rain holding off, 189 visitors and over £1450 raised by the Friends from ticket sales, plant sales and teas. Some photographs of the plant sale, open gardens and teas. (click on photos to see larger images)

Christmas Supper 2011

The 2011 Millennium Green Christmas Supper, held in the St. Stephen's Centre, was once again a very enjoyable event, attended by about seventy people. The Christmas Supper is an excellent opportunity for local people to get together and to share a really good buffet meal. A cheque was presented by the Friends committee's treasurer, Mary Ede, to the Millennium Green Trust's treasurer, Claire Smith, in the sum of £4,500. This money was raised over the past year at events held both on the Green and at St. Stephen's Centre. The Millennium Green Trustees and the Friend's committee would like to thank all who so generously support us. Some photographs of the event. (click on photos to see larger images)
